Curious. When selected for "The Regiment" do you revert to Tpr or carry your rank?

Here's your answer Bert

On passing selection, you revert to Trooper and lose your rank and pay that you had in your parent Regiment. I was a Sergeant so I lost my rank and pay. The exception to that rule is Royal Signals. They keep their Royal Signals pay and seniority but revert to Trooper in the SAS. Also they can attend Royal Signals courses and gain rank in the Royal Signals. The system is still used today and it is very unfair

Charlie,
What happens when you return to your unit/Corps?
Do you regain your rank and seniority? Also, if you are promoted whilst in "The Regt." What happens to that rank?

Subject: Mike Humphries

An email sent to me from Ann his wife. Mike passed away in October of last year and I have informed Rod Sharpe who was in the same Regiment

Email reads: I thought they were informed. Yes please let them know. We enjoyed the get together.
Mike had picked his music for funeral at going in and going out were pieces from Pipes and Drums QRIH. I also made sure he was wearing his regimental tie.
Mike has a 4th Hussars riding crop which he believed to be an Orderly Corporal cane or stick. He wanted the Museum to have this. Havnt done anything about it yet. Any ideas who best to contact.
My best wishes to you and all the remaining boys.
Take care
Ann x

True. Let's put our handbags aside - bring all the toys back in the pram and carry on enjoying the site.

All you do is go to the Photo Gallery and scroll down to the bottom of the photos and then click on the last right arrow and it takes you to the end where you can see the latest photo/s .

I f you have any more problems contact me and I will guide you as I did when I was an Instructor at Lulworth.

On the other hand if you think this is a Fred Karno setup I suggest that you leave the site to those of us who appreciate it and were Boys Squadron not a JLR who joined in '58. If I remember correctly, you always had some choice remarks to make on the JLR site which didn't go down to well.

I totally agree with your latest suggestion re 'Leave the site if you are not happy with it'.

I for one appreciate what you have done in forming the site and continuing to update it.
Long may you continue doing so.
