The Sun again puts Bovington in the News regarding troops use of the drug, ketamine, whatever that is ....... a pity though that the Sun is behind the times as it used a photo of a Chieftain to highlight the story; no prizes for guessing the mark!
Dick I wouldn't dream of reading the sun. Maybe it's a cavalry thing. Charlie

Subject: 1954 Boxing Team. Sent in by John Warner
Just received this photo (in the Gallery) but although it's a very bad reproduction the following text that came with it is interesting
Cambrai troop boxing team 1954. The one in the middle wearing a white top, Terry Richardson was a junior army champion. Unfortunately he received a dishonorable discharge for breaking into the barbers shop in Wool village and was sent to borstal. His accomplice who was never caught is also in the picture but less said the better

Still keeping one step ahead of the "Grim Reaper".
Also, Mac McKeever (not on the net) is also in the same position.
Cheers to all.

Subject: Tank Corps flag
Spotted on the bottom right hand corner of page 24 of to-days Sun; yes, I know none of you read the Sun, that's why I'm reporting this .........Quote .....
Flag raised
The original Tank Corps flag made in 1917 using fabric from a bombed shop has gone on show in Bovington, Dorset.
One can only assume the flag is in the Museum.

Thank you for your ideas which has given me something to think about. It's good to see that some of you are looking in which means that a few of you are still hanging in there. Maybe the rest of you could let me and the rest of the 'BOYS' know that we are still at regimental strength.
At least my 2/IC would take over the reigns (excuse the pun you lot in the Cav). Just to let you know that I am fit and well and still getting around on the golf course three times a week and without having to use a buggy!

Actually I look at this site every day & it's the very first one I open. Like to hear what the rest of my Tank Park friends are doing.
I maybe wrong but if my memory serves me right that is the first time we have heard from Chris in a very, very long time! Would be great if some of the sleepers would write a few lines to let us know what they are doing.
We have right just over 12" of snow on the ground & with the wind it's not very warm, in fact it's bloody cold, just got in from my daily walking the dog. On the 3rd October we had our first big snowfall of the winter, out in Elkwater they had over 4 feet of the white stuff & for you who went to BATUS you know what that's all about.
On the night of 4 October I woke up with chest pains & a dead left arm & blood pressure of 240, wife called 911 & I was carted of to hospital, stayed for 10 days on a heart monitor 24/7, got me down to around the 120's, it appears as my doctor had been messing around with my meds they were working against each other, but all appears well now!!
Well take all of you, stay healthy & warm.......Neville.
