The Sgt was as you say smart and a great bloke RIP. He was in the second with me and after leaving the service he lived just behind me and we would often reminisce together until he passed away.
He was also one of the staff at the Boys Squadron and JLR. Last posting was with JLR, second time, as the RQMS boots and socks. Fought in Burma with a Scottish Battalion with Shermans.

Sgt Mckay 2 RTr was a Blenhein PS Sgt and a pleasure to have had him as a ps staff member. His wife ( German?) used to bull his boots so he told us and they were immaculate as was his general appearance. Good bloke along with Mick Bone LG.

Codders, I think you are right with the name and he was always immaculate, I bet he even pressed his jimjams and his socks.
Hope all is well with you and yours.

Query from Minty Rose junior
On the 1RTR Site currently debating which Regiment Lea Dawson served in during his National Service. I believe it was the 14/20th H or the 13/18th H. Any suggestions.
