Just received my first birthday present. A letter from the DWP
informing me that as I'm approaching my 80th Birthday my state pension will increase by 25p per week. It reminded me that 64 years ago I received 5 shillings (25p) per week from my pay of 17/6p a week! What goes around comes around!

I bet the stamp cost more! I remember Al Walkden lending you halve a crown for double back at the next pay parade. Never out of debit until I became a senior boy after one year and then 10 shillings a week.

That gives you about three weeks to decide what to spend it on ........

Why not - wine,women and song...squander the rest !!!
